Well, I did it.
There will be time for celebrating later (maybe) as I still feel I have a lot of work to do. If you haven’t already guessed, the blog is continuing, though in heavily modified form. The game-a-day thing consumed my life for a year straight, and I’m glad I did it, but I’m equally glad that it’s over. Instead, I’ll be shooting to write about games roughly twice a week from this point forward. This will allow me to tackle a lot of the longer games that I’ve been putting on the backburner for a while. Unlike last year, there will be no hard and fast schedule. Sometimes I’ll only get out one entry a week. Sometimes, if I have a lot to say, I’ll do three, but you won’t see anything until it’s ready.
I’ll also continue to churn out videos three times a week. My 2017 will mostly look like this.
Those “off” days will most likely be filled with some other project that I start up, since working on this site for a year straight has really instilled in me this compulsion to accomplish something every single day. It’s a good habit to form and one of the most positive takeaways from this whole experience. With all of this said, I will be taking a week off from everything to recharge my batteries.
To everyone that’s sent me messages through email and Twitter, thank you. It means a lot and it’s good to know that this silly little project of mine had such a positive impact on people, even if I wasn’t 100% happy with the end result. In an attempt to counter-act my own stupid brain and its negativity, I’ve put together a list of what I feel were my best entries from the past year. Maybe there’s something in there you missed previously or can link to a friend that may find it interesting.
